June 25, 1943

We went to Messina today. I didn’t think it was too bad. We got hit by flak & were attacked by fighters but all in all it wasn’t too bad. Hope the rest of them come out as well as this one did.

The 88th lost 1 ship and the 2nd lost two.

Gee, I felt relieved & good when I got back here. Maybe I do feel better when I know that I’m an active part in this game.
