July 2, 1942 Thursday

Today has been another day of nothing to do. This afternoon, I went for a ride in a “Stirling.” I was scared stiff in the thing. It’s plenty big. I prefer the Fortress to these even if ours don’t carry the bomb load.

Tonite we went to a W.A.A.F. dance here on the field. These English girls don’t compare with our American girls. Would like to be near one particular one.
