Made a decision today to go back and fly 5 more missions. It took me a long time to convince myself that I should, but I finally talked myself into it. I’m sure that I will never be sorry that I did. It will mean so much to my folks & girl for me to get back to the States & be with all of them again. I would never be contented if I didn’t take advantage of the opportunity to go home. I’ll be a little nervous on these, but I’ll be OK again as soon as I get back to the States and get some good rest & food. I’m going to take a physical tomorrow & be sure that I’m OK before I fly.

Bena dear, I’m thinking of you & you’re the one who made me decide I would have to fly & get back to see you.
